Yes, you should be able to control the contrast on the monitor's on screen display. What is the make and model number of the monitor?

Monitor Packard Bell Viseo 230Ws. I checked my specifications in UserCP and changed to current. Thanks.

After some effort as you require very slim fingers to operate the small switches. Brilliance is showing as 60 Contrast as 30, but colours rather on the pale side. What is a general setting?

I would say contrast is low - try increasing it to ~50%

Setting is very awkward, I think problem is too many tasks for one switch, other is for +/- and set. I noticed one step showed reset and screen appears to be reasonable now. Thanks.

Mine is very awkward also. I think they all are in one way or the other. My monitors Contrast was at 70 and I back it off to 50. Yours was low so you brought it up to 50. Would you consider this thread as resolved.

Bobby have you got any grandchildren? I'm sure the little fingers would figure it out in no-time. The kids are using comps/tablets/phones in their classrooms these days (makes me envious).
Seriously though, have you got - can you locate a user manual for your Monitor?
I always ensure I have a copy for mine - it helps when you have to check/setup the monitor. Neil.

Quality has improved and now acceptable. The manual is very short and nothing relates to the buttons setting or indeed anything helpful. Apparently PB has concentrated more in printing the manual in a score of different languages. I must admit that in my case, copy of Windows 7 installed is quite unstable at times but very good when all is correctly working. Thanks for all help, appreciated.
