    I thought I was doing the right thing purchasing a quad core 6 gig ram monster. Sure, it's nice to have but it also means I have a vista '64 bit' operating system (4 gig ram and over really needs 64 bit) which turns out to have compatibility issues with a lot of hardware and software. Even the vast majority of recently released handycams only run on 32 bit.

    I've got 1 gigabyte using Windows Vista Home Basic.



    It's all I need, really. Basic doesn't have aero, and even if it did I would have all but uninstalled it.



    It does get annoying when my games start to freeze up, though, so I might get more.
