    I think someone is asking the WRONG party to be sorry.

    If those same persons that are writing not so nice comments here, were as all knowing as they claim to be they would know that;

    #1-Not all things work on all computers every time. Even for what SEEMS TO BE the same circumstances. And I can PERSONALLY VOUCH for that. I have three machine. And every one requires different handling.

    #2 Not all recovery processes will work on EVERY PC/HardDrive EVERY TIME. Many times it may relate to the original cause.

    #2a. MANY TIMES what works for one PC/HD WILL NOT work on another. In other words what works for me may well NOT WORK for someone else. ( back to my 3 machines again )

    #3-There are times when things pop up that we have not had to deal with before.

    I myself had a problem Accessing this very site earlier to day. I HAVE NEVER HAD IT before. I still do not know ( exactly ) why. Cause I can get here just fine now AFTER I RESTARTED WINDOW But I THINK it was because I got in too darn much of a hurry after I booted the machine in the first place. And dealing with Windows from 3.1 on up to and includig XP Pro I KNOW BETTER

    Either that or I had something running in the background that caused confusion. That would not be a first. But I checked and did not find anything.

    It could also have been my ISP had a problem. That would not be a first for sure.

    Rockster, I won't talk to you, I'll just talk about you. I'd probably just get "fried" if I made any requests :D .
    I consider Rockster2U a very good friend (saved my backside many times).
    I have come across some good forums and in many areas this is one of the best (and Rockster is a part of that).

    This particular forum (WindowsBBS -> Hardware) covers a link between the hardware and the OS. Try asking a Windows/OS question on a hardware forum (although they are interrelated)...................... :confused:

    I have made many friends on this forum. It is now a place to hear from my friends. You won't find many other forums that have such a strong bond (you listening Rockster? :) ).

    In Lysimachus's situation, I would research the problem on the Net (background information). Ask the lady (customer)...over the phone... to startup and see at what stage it stops/crashes. That should show where the problem is (Is it a HDD problem at all? Some "malware" programs can stop the system in it's tracks.)

    Guys - this has gone far enough - and way off subject.

    Lysimachus - I apologise for the remarks made against you in this thread - if you require further help please start a new thread, which hopefully will not degenerate as this one clearly has.
