Yea, I've read the article. I'd like someone to try that with Windows 8, once it is set up to sign in with a 'Microsoft' account. I think you'll get the same results *if* Microsoft would allow the password recovery to be easily 'abused'.

That the guy didn't have backups is his own stupid mistake. But I would guess that a very large percentage of users do not have backups of even their most precious pictures... Recovery services are going to be a growth business in the future I guess.
