Hi and Thank You

I thought it only polite to drop in here and say both Hi to everyone and a BIG BIG thanks to Broni on the Malware and Virus Removal forum.

I am ashamed to admit that I only found this forum, via google, due to a problem

So,
I am Brian.
I am a born and bred Brit but now reside permanently in Cyprus with my partner Steph.

I have been using and working with computers for more years than I would care to remember. (Hardware not software) I cut my teeth on Honywell Minis working in the "real world" with 8k magnetic core plan memories and punch tape programs

However I am certainly not up to date with modern hardware having taken early retirement a few years ago.

Software leaves me for dead and I just use it.

I have 4 systems running at home.
A media centre and 3 laptops.
The media centre is a home build and is mainly used for music films and photos. I have not as yet connected it to live TV.
the three laptops are mine (Acer) Stephs (Sony) and an old IBM think pad that is used for tuning software for my other passion kit cars.
We also have a netbook that is our travelling companion when we go off travelling the world.

I doubt that I will be a great deal of help on here but I will if I can.

I'm now off to ask a question in the software part of the site.
