I'm in need of help with java jre. I was looking at versions of java and saw that i had a lot. So in my programs files i deleted them. I don't know why i did now. But my problem is i don't have any traces of java on my computer except for a random java file in my control panel/programs that when i click it says nothing. When i try to install java jre i get a window that says it's already installed then it asks me if i want to reinstall. I click yes. Then i get this message "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.â€. I have done as many things as i can i have been at the computer all day trying to fix. My os is windows 7 just recently upgraded from vista. I have used the javaRa program and for me i assume it removed lots of files from java, I also used revounistaller and killed all traces of java. If anyone can help it would be great. Chances are i will be at my computer until i fix this.

    Many thanks.

Hi Imanoobatthis and welcome to WindowsBBS :D

Have a look at JavaRA, with luck it will remove the remnants of Java Jre and assist with the installation of the latest version.

Please post back and let us know how you get on.

Sorry I missed that, Sometimes the brain switches off when everything is jumbled together. A little white space between paragraphs would have helped ;)

I'll leave this for others to respond to but before I go one final suggestion. Have you tried a system restore to a date before you started messing around with Java?

Yeah wish i could but when i installed my new os recently it got rid of all my restore saves and i still haven't learned how to turn it on yet, i am use to it being everyday but now i'm lost. I also don't want to flush my computer because i have 2 terabites of memory and about 80% of it is filled up. So figuring this out would be nice.

Check registry for any Java traces.
Search computer for java.cpl file. Delete it, if found.
