Help protecting my computer with new cable modem...

    If you want good solid protection with a Cable Modem ?

    I repeat.

    Then use a good TWO WAY software firewall to maintain YOUR control of what goes out.

    When I was using Norton Internet Security the incoming log was ALWAys very large. But once I added the Router it went to 0 ( ZERO ) nothing.

    Ran a scan on both those sites - basically completely stealthed - a couple of CLOSED ports detected.

    Well done Kerio

    BB - I'm sure you are right, but I only have dialup.

    I either missed something or just plain went by the title of the thread.

    Sorry about that.

    And Yes. Kerio does do a good job.

    Just for the hello of it I did by-pass the Router for an hour or two. And Kerio had to work over time.

    No, BB - you were quite right, the thread relates to cable modems, but, as is often the case, there is another discussion going on at the same time - properties of WIN XP firewall!
