Hard Drive Dilema

    I think we can put this one to bed. It's obvious that connecting drives this way isn't going to make a bit of difference.

    I once used a Nicklock dual-boot device which jumpered both drives as Master and then electrically closed the jumper depending on which direction you had the external key turned. The non-selected drive would not be jumpered at all which, I think, in most cases, turns the drive into a slave. It worked with IBMs but failed with Maxtors. Honestly, I can see how a hard drive might not like this set up. I gave up this setup a while ago. I got myself a good KVM instead.

    I don't know Pete but ha'porth sure looks like a Vulcan expression to me...:p
