    Hey guys,

Ever since I did a clean install about a month and half ago, I've been receiving the "Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close" error. I've done massive amounts of Google searches, reading, trying alleged fixes but nothing has worked.

My virus software, Avast!, has also detected numerous viruses stemming from the svchost.exe process. Whether this has something to do with it or not I have no certain idea. A few sites have said they're related in some way but I'm not too sure.

This, as you can imagine, has been getting very annoying, especially with the upcoming release of Black Ops looming and my computer not being up to scratch to play it.

So far, I have tried solutions such as Windows updates, Virus, Adware, Malware, etc. scans, scripting and the such but nothing has yet fixed my problem.

If you can give me a solution that works, I would be very grateful.

    Cheers,
    RedFOX:D

PS: If you need logs such as those from HijackThis, I can supply those as well. :)
