Folders accidentally dropped into Prefetch

    You are right. That is what I THOUGHT. But I had to do a bit of testing to make sure.

    But I did the test and posted same in order ( hopefullly ) to answer the question. And because we often become creatures of habit and do things without thinking.

    Also I say thank you for the added info about same or different drives. That I was not aware of.

    Would different drives also mean different partitions on the same drive ?

    I just LEFT BUTTON dragged a folder from H: to G:

    It was copied.

    It applies to logical drive and physical drives. Actually, the reason why is, the MOVE command operates that same way, and that's what explorer uses to left drag unless you leave the drive with it. The MOVE command cannot perform between drives because it doesn't really "move" anything, it just renames it.

    When you left drag between drives, explorer uses the COPY command instead.
