Microsoft released a patch for all current Windows versions to fix a flaw in an ActiveX control designed to allow web-based certificate enrollments.

The patch for XP is suggested for those systems running XP Gold, which is something I've not heard of. I know about Home, Pro, and Server, but what is XP Gold?

Ever since I downloaded this fix, there are several internet pages that I get a message about "Current security options do not allow ActiveX, this page may not load properly" or something like that. So far, it's just been junk I don't want to see anyway like that &*$%@ xcam popup ad.

Do I need to make a change? I don't see anything that mentions ActiveX in IE6 Tools. Thanks.

Is this resolved in SP1? Looking at the filename for the .exe, there's some mention of SP1 in there.
