Firewall problem

    The problem is with the cmd command. It brings up this error message.

    C:\windows\system 32\.com
    the NTVDM cpu has encountered an illegal instruction
    cs:0572 IP:ffe4 OP:fe 1d 09 e9 "choose close to terminate the application "

    Ok, try typing this in start-run:
    sfc /scannow
    It will verify protected system files, and reinstall them if anything is wrong. You will need your Windows cd to do this..
    If that dont fix it, check to see the size, and modify date on C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
    Mine is 388*608 bytes, and modified date is the day i installed win xp

    OK, I did the sfc /scannow. It didn't fix anything and I checked the system32 file to find that it had been created in 2004 (not modified).
