Overusing is the perfect word Westside.
Much of it is bookmarked, but the dang list of bookmarks is already so long!
I'm going to make a conscious effort to limit my nuumber of open tabs.

Only 245 MB for 27 Tabs is pretty darn good! Rule of thumb, figure about 10 MB/Tab.

All versions of FF have memory leaks, but the quantity of leakage has been greatly reduced with each newer version. FF 3.5.1 is much better w/ memory than earlier versions.

I've been using FF 3.5.2 since version 3.5.1 first came out, and updated from there.

Personally, no major problems, so far. The only thing I've noticed is some more instances of pages that won't load straight away until I refresh. To be fair to FF, it might be something else going on in my computer, (network settings, etc).

I typically have 2-6 tabs open and use 11 FF add-ons. My memory usage right now is 135 MB, CPU usage around 2%, with 47 Windows' processes running.

My wife sometimes has 10-20 tabs open. Still works OK.

I've also been using a recent Beta version of Google Chrome's browser. For me, at least, it definitely starts up noticeably faster than FF. Takes a bit of getting used to, but I'm starting to like it.

The so-called browser wars are still raging. My favorite, so far, is still Firefox 3.5.2, with Google Chrome a close second. IE6 and IE7 just give me a headache, although I haven't tried IE8, yet. Looking forward to FF4.

Using FF 3.5.2 with 24 enabled extensions, two tabs open yields about 75-77 MB of memory usage. As I write this, though, I have 12 tabs open and memory usage is a hair over 156 MB.

So far as Tony's 10 MB per tab rule of thumb is concerned, I think it depends entirely on the complexity of the website open on each tab. I find that some simple pages increase memory usage by as little as 2 MB, while more complex pages may increase it by 15 MB or more.

I can't even begin to estimate FF's CPU usage, as there are so many things going on in my computer at any given time that the CPU usage bounces from as little as 2% to a high of 100%. I should add that my computer is a bit long in the tooth, with a 2 GHz processor and 3GB of RAM, so my 100% usage may not be representative.

10 MB/tab is abaout an average. For example, the Google home page uses very little while Yahoo home pages uses much more because of all the carp on the page.

Yup. Google = 2MB; Yahoo = 15MB. Those carp really eat up a lot of memory.:)
