    Ramona thank you sooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, since you do not have a headache, I have another question.
The way this web page is made, if one is using IE, music starts automatically, as soon as one goes there. Please try it using IE (www.ehlisunet.com) so you can appreciate what I am talking about. Once you do that than I have 2 questions:

1--Is it possible to set it up web page like that for Firefox?
2--Generraly speaking, can web pages be set up so all browsers can recognize mp3? Thanks a lot for your time and effort. BTW do you have a pet?

    El Camino,

I did go to your page using IE, and the background music played as soon as the file downloaded. However, the code you used is IE proprietary code, as we discussed. The code I gave you is cross-browser, altho you do need to click on a link to play the MP3 file.

I did try this code on this web site, and it works for streaming the MP3 music file immediately, without having to click on a link. It is for Windows Media Player, however. But it is cross browser compatible.

    http://www.developingwebs.net/html/mp3.php

NOTE: You will have make an m3u file, and replace your file names with the example names in the code.

Let us know how it goes.

I use Crescendo, and it's pretty good. It just has two little annoying problems:

    1. When it starts playing, the little Crescendo window pops up on the screen, invariably on a spot that I'm reading, so that I have to move it.

    2. Sometimes (not always), if I close the window or tab with the Crescendo playing, or move to another tab or window, it just keeps on playing. This can be very confusing if the next site that I visit also starts playing.

Anybody ever encounter (and overcome) these problems?

I don't use Crescendo, but can you minimize the window, or does it have precerences which allows it to play under rather than on top? The same happens with Jet Audio, which handles any format, quite well. You deselect the "always on top" feature, and work from the the systray. Anything like that in Crescendo?
As for continuing to play, JetAudio will always play outside the website, so I have to close it first It is not embedded, which would allow it to play when you exit the site, only or, ir it may depend on the site.

    El Camino,

I do have a pet, a toy poodle. She is 11 years old, and my faithful companion. :)

    xelaw,

    1. It depends on how the webmaster has configured his code, as to how you will see the Crescendo player. On my embedded midi page, I elected to have a very small stationary icon, which you can right click. See THIS PAGE. BTW, that's me doing the dancing....

    2. Right click the player and select "Stop ". There is also a "Stop" button on the player, the square one, which is the fourth button from the left.

Nice. I am a veterinarian. So, if you need second opinion, or advice, I am ready to help. I am much better at that than computers. :)
