What is the make and model of you computer? Which Edition of Windows 7 are you running. Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate? Your system specs only show 32bit. Did you try searching for programs and files from the start menu?

Hi camrow, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

If you click Start< and in the Start Search box type wmplayer or Windows Media Player does the program show up in the search results? What happens if you search for Windows Media Center?

Lets see if Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center are both installed on your computer. Click Start< in the Start search box type Turn Windows Features on or off and hit enter. The Turn Windows Features on or off window will open. Expand the Media Features category and make sure that both the Windows Media Player, and Windows Media Center items are both checked. When that is done click on Ok to apply the changes to the computer.

When prompted, reboot the computer for those Windows Features to be reinstalled.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

    Thank you terminator.
    Did as you suggested.
Both were sitting there waiting to be turned on but the windows feature category was not.
Amazing that something so simple can be so perplexing.
