After updating FireFox to 48.0, I can't get to Microsoft Download Center. It returns the message "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. "

It works fine on IE11 and I wonder if it is a bug in FF 48.0 or if there is a different reason for MDC to stop loading on FF?

Hi Christer, I;ve just installed FF 48.0 to check and WU works OK for me. It downloaded the latest Defender info and I used Learn more to go to MS web site without problem. All seems to be OK in the cold wintry South.:) Neil.

I have no issues connecting to MDC on Firefox 48 - maybe a reinstall of Firefox would help?

I'll do some tests. It seems like if I clear the cash and/or the cookies, I can connect once but the next time , not.

I did a test a few moments ago and it connected fine to MDC. I closed and the next attempt failed. I had not cleared the cash or the cookies prior to this test. I'll be back!

When the computer has been restarted, I can connect to MDC once. If I reload the page or type in a search phrase and do the search, it can not connect. Clearing the cookies from "microsoft.com" resets the "count" but I still get only a single connection.

These tests render the same results on my desktop, running Windows 7 Professional as on my laptop, running Windows 10 Home.

Could it be a problem limited to the Swedish version?

Seems unlikely - have you tried the English version as a test?

I too thought that it would be unlikely so, I tried the English (US) version on my desktop with the same result. I also installed the previous version (47.0.1) with the same result.

Post the URL you are using for MDC.
    This is the English site:
    Code:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download

Opens immediately for me from your link Christer. Just clarify, I'm using W10 Pro 64bit Version 1607 and FF 48.0. Neil.

Do you use a proxy Internet connection?

I'm not sure but I don't think so. Automatically created (by W7 and W10 respectively) connection, broadband via cable, not wifi.

Let's see if it's a DNS problem because MS uses some strange redirect mechanisms to get to its various sites.
    Try this:
    Code:
    http://191.239.213.197/en-us/download

The same result. After clearing the cookies from microsoft.com, the page loads but when reloading: "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found." 17 cookies are dumped but I have not tried to find out exactly which is the culprit.

I isolated two cookies, RPSAuth and RPSSecAuth, which if removed no longer prevent reloading of the page.

    RPSAuth.jpg RPSSecAuth.jpg

    But ... :( ... they both return.

It seems like there's a problem with my (?) E-mail account at Outlook (former Hotmail). If I have logged in to that account, Microsoft Download Center doesn't reload. If I have not logged in to that account, MDC works fine.

On the laptop with Win10, if I don't check the box to stay logged in on my Outlook account, I have to relog in the next time.

On the desktop with Win7, no matter what, box checked or not, I stay logged in.

    ... ... ...
