Resolved fatal error LNK1168: when I try to run Visual Studio Express

    I've been running Visual Studio Express with no problem. Suddenly I get an error:
    Research on the Internet seems to show that I need to enable "Application Experience" service. But I have no idea how to do that.

    Anyone recognize this error?

    Well, I found the "Application Experience" service and it was not the problem. But I did solve it.

    I hit the <ctrl><alt><del> keys and got the Windows Task Manager. The program that was causing the problem showed as still being running. I selected it, hit "end task," and everything was fine.
