Keeping Outlook may prevent BitDefender scan from accessing Outlook files.
    Keep us posted...

As Bitdefender was running my PC crashed (Bluescreen: Stop 0x0000007E, plus two more codes) I think it was due to CD/DVD drive opening part way through, not sure though. Shortly after I rebooted Radial Point called. They spent hours cleaning my PC and checking things. Then a scan on outlook.pst - same thing happened, quarantined and coiuldn't recover. I had a back up on disc so I can still use outlook. Radial Point suggested, as you and Tony have, that I check every email for the virus with 'real time' protection on. I spent hours going through all of the emails with attachments - nothing showed up. So I'm back to the beginning it seems. For now I'll go back through the email again but there are hundreds of them. What does it mean to have a 'false positive' in this instance? Ken

I've just finished a lengthy process to find and eliminate the exploit.iframe.vulnerability virus from my outlook.pst file.

It was in an email from 2003. I've used Norton, AVG and Bell/Radial Point AV software since that time - so it took seven years before it was detected and that appears to have happened due to an upgrade of the Bell/Radial Point AV s/w that took place in March 2010 I believe.

The email in question didn't have an attachment. Ironically it was one that I had sent to a business colleague informing her of a virus in an email that she sent me. Norton AV had flagged the email/attachment and supposedly deleted it from my PC. The email did contain a link to a website that supposedly had tech notes on the virus itself which was 'W32.Klez' or something like that.

Thank you for your support. The issue is resolved - I'll make note of that in the appropriate area of the site. Cheers, Ken

OKay, thanks Tony. Radial Point ran ComboFix, HiJackThis, CleanUp40, and Malware Tool. I'll run the Symantec though, just in case. I sure don't want to go thru the seek and destroy process for outlook.pst again. Cheers, Ken
