OUTLOOK EXPRESS VERSUS OUTLOOK.

I am continually getting error Ox800CCC92 when I try to read my mail it keeps asking me for password but will not accept it!!!!I have not been able to log into Outlook Express now for three days.Cannot find out how to change password so am really stuck.Seriously thinking of abandoning OE alltogether as this is the second time over the past year this has happened.

Check your Outlook Express settings, making sure that your POP3 and SMTP usernames, passwords and servers are correct.
If you are still getting this error, it is possible that your password has somehow become corrupted. Try changing it in your account's control panel.
Also, make sure that your account and domain name are still active.

Instructions may vary slightly depending upon OE Versions but the basics are below.

How to reenter your password in Outlook Express

1. Start Outlook Express.

Note If you receive a logon error, close the dialog box and continue.
2. Click Tools, and then click Accounts.
3. Click the Mail tab in the Internet Accounts window.
4. In the Account column, click to select the Internet e-mail account that you want to change, and then click Properties.
5. On the Server tab, type your password in the Password box, and then click to select the Remember password check box.
6. Click OK, and then click Close.
7. Exit and then restart Outlook Express.
8. On the Tools menu, click Send and Receive to determine whether your password is retained. In this case, to check whether it is correct.

Thanks you every one I really appreciate all your replies but unfortunately none of them worked!!!
What I did in the end was to restore my system back to a date when it was working and hey presto!! it worked..but maybe it worked because I had done all the things that was suggested .
