email DOESN'T retrieve from server or land in OE inbox!

still no problems, I think that may have it nailed (saying that's bound to make it go wrong)

I think there must have been something else as well as the corrupt dbx files; all the accounts were originally set up not to leave it on the server... but when set up like that the UIDL thing doesn't (shouldn't) get involved, that command doesn't get issued.

...if UIDL was getting sent it would explain a lot.

hmmm. ever had properties for something not work the way they show?

I get it just about every time with the monitor (not) turning itself off after I've been forced through safe mode... properties say it's turning off after half an hour, but it doesn't, just stays on.

- so I have to set it to something else, Apply, then set it back to what it should have been and Apply again...

(anyway doing that ungreys the Apply button which always seems to make it work better )

I think that was going on with the checkbox for "leave on server "; but, of course, can't tell now. Should have started keeping the log before fiddling with the checkbox. (20-20 hindsight strikes again)

but the route I took would have fixed that, if indeed it was the case...

only an hour out, Zander? a mere trifle... at least when we can't tell the time here, we blow it quite comprehensively...
