    Help with dwwin!!

after extensive testing, i found that the dwwin problem only occurs with me at shutdown when the norton program ccapp.exe is loaded at startup. the people at norton are NO help at all with this problem. i need ccapp to load at startup otherwise i will no have virus protection. anyone using norton also has this file load at startup. can anyone help me to get rid of this dwwin error message at shutdown?

    Downtick,
Welcome to the BBS! Congratulations for finding and USING the BBS "Search" function! Many people are unable to do that, apparently.

I do think you might want to start a new thread, maybe one of the moderators will delete the nearly 40 "unrelated" posts before yours...

I have never seen this problem, but as a Norton user for several years, I agree, their tech support is of little or no help. I was going to tell you to disable it, temporarily, because you don't need AV until you check email. Then I checked Symantec (wow! that's a long link- hope it works!) and it says NOT to. Something in NIS depends on it, as well as Symantec is worried that users will forget to turn it back on.

I will do some checking, others will chime in, and we'll get this sorted out. DO NOT disable Norton (w/o some other security in place) and go online. If you are just getting an unwanted error message, post it in its entirety. If there are others issues with your comp, even if you don't think they are related, please post those, too. Are you running Home or Pro XP? Do you have anything from Roxio installed? When did this error start appearing? How did you isolate this problem into a Norton error?

    Johanna
