I'm completely lost on this subject and cannot even explain it properly.
I had to reinstall Win7 Pro 64-bit due to a corrupt MBR, been running it since first installation some six years ago without any serious issues.

After successful install, including about 180 MS patches/updates, everything running fine.
About four years ago I purchased a second monitor, Dell U24112M, but as far as I can remember it was a plug & play procedure? The card is with two outputs and connected to each monitor. Its been running 100% all these years and I never touched anything.

At the moment both running but it's a duplication, same view on both. I do not see the "Multiple displays" option at the screen resolution option?

If anybody requires more hardware information to assist me I'll gladly scratch around to find it.
All I know is that it is an Asus P8P67 LE motherboard, Intel Core i7-2600K processor and ATI/AMD Radeon HD 5450/5470/5490/5530/6230/6250/6290 video adapter.

Looking at Device Manager settings there is only one monitor showing, the Dell U2412M and not the Hanns·G HG-281.
There are yellow exclamations but they are under "Other devices" - PCI Simple Communications Controller, SM Bus Controller and Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller.

Is there something obvious amiss or do you require more input from my side? I know nothing about cables and plugs, sad to say. On the card it seems the Dell is connected via a DVI socket (white) and the Hanns via a DSUB (blue) socket.

Any suggestions or advice most welcome.

After you reinstalled Windows did you install the mobo chipset and other drivers?

Win 7 can do a good job with drivers ...but not always.

Thanks Steve, no I didn't install any drivers. I think you're correct, I require drivers.
The shop must have installed them before delivery way back when.
I now searched all over the Asus site but the qty and versions of drivers very confusing.

    Resolved

Hi Evan Omo, thanks for your input with these links, the AMD Legacy Driver did the trick, spot on.
I installed and immediately all resolved, all back to normal.

    Much appreciated.

In Windows where you see the 2 screens that are duplicated(exactly the same) if I remember that far back to Win 7 from Win 10. If you Right Click on the Desktop & select "Display Settings" as I said if remember back that far you need to find or select somewhere in there to "Extend Screens" then identify them so you can see which is screen 1 & 2. So you will be able to swap screen 1 with 2 if it doesn't go from the screen 1 left & moved to the right side of screen 2. If can't be seen try shutting PC down insert 2nd screen start up PC go back to Display settings & choose the option saying "Detect ". That's all I've ever done & it seems to worm for me in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 & Windows 10 but that's now under Settings in Windows 10 or in the Notifications bar bottom right of task bar. Good luck.
