    Ramona ...

Macromedia FlashPlayer doesn't show up in Add/Remove on either of my computers.

    ackerberg ...

The Preferences Toolbar (Prefbar) extension Ramona is talking about also works with Mozilla, and is very handy for turning FlashPlayer off and on, if that's what you want to do. This page gives you some information about it, and you can install it from there. This page will tell you nearly everything you might want to know about PrefBar.

    ackerberg, and Jim,

That's probably because you must have elected to accept Flash Player in your install of Mozilla or Firefox. I always opt out, and install the player independently, thus the entry in Add/Remove.

I always install FlashPlayer independently, too. In fact, I've been moving my profile folder around today, which has required uninstalling Firefox and deleting all references to it in the Registry. After re-installing it, building a new profile, and copying the files which personalize "my" Firefox, it's necessary to reinstall FlashPlayer.

I've been through the process several times today (having nothing better to do with my time, apparently :)), and FlashPlayer has yet to show up in Add/Remove.

I installed Flashplayer independently and then actually regretted installing it.

Three ways (that I can think of) to get around that:
    1) There's another extension (can't think of the name) that prevents Flash apps from being displayed unless you give permission.

    2) The PrefBar extension that Ramona and I have talked about will do the same.

    3) Use a program like Regseeker to delete all mentions of FlashPlayer in the Registry.
