this is quite true. I couldn't believe that all the drivers I needed were on that ftp site. I never knew it existed. Anyway my wife is glad I’m not buying a new MB now. I have one program I'm still struggling with. I thought the problem was the 3D graphics but apparently not because it still has problems.

Looks like a new thread needs to be started.

Some programs, especially games, test your video capabilities either during installation or on first run. You might try completely uninstalling that app and re-installing just in case it has underestimated your system's capabilities.

 

I assumed my problem with my program was related to my original problem and so I didn't look much further for an answer. I searched another forum related to the program and found a post with the same exact problem and the suggestion was to use a universal monitor selection in the video setup screen. I tried it instead of VGA and it worked. So I'm good to go now. One happy camper or computerer. You guys are great.....

It sure makes things harder when you have 2 problems that seem to be related and then turn out to be separate from one another.
