Fuzzy_C, (found in my research travels) one benefit from the change from the Duron to the Thunderbird, the onboard L2 cache of the chip has increased from 64kb to 256kb...maybe resulting in part of the improvement that you noticed.

Contrary to his "experienced" moniker, Fuzzy_C is a little "fuzzy" re: hardware. Yes, laser cut bridges can be bridged with pencil lead to OC a T-Bird, but his MoBo isn't up to snuff and his interest is just in getting it up to normal operating speed, not trying to push the envelope. Best way to OC this chip is two-part conductive silver epoxy, however, a lot of these CPU's came with "uncut" bridges, meaning they required nothing (other than knowledge) to OC.

    Fuzzy_C - no offense meant.

the 1333 is a chip model with the uncut bridges, been trying to get into the bios, but all i get into with f10 is a system config utility, won't let me do anything with bios, but the softfsb thing you were talking about, i downloaded softfsb 1.7f, and i'm gonna try it out and see what i can do with it, and ya, the experienced thing is more towards software and other kinds of hardware, never messed with motherboard stuff before
