At the moment this is just annoying, but I'd like to sort it.

On startup my desktop computer gets as far as my desktop on screen and then while doing a few more things before it is ready (perfectly normal) it blacks out and leaves a no signal message. Switching off and starting again usually solves it, but does anyone know what might be causing this?

    Thanks,
    Martin

No signal means that the graphics output has failed. I suggest you update/reinstall your graphics drivers and also remove and reseat the graphics card - that is assuming you do not use onboard graphics.
