I forgot to answer your question about running TFC. Yes, I did run that program. Sorry I forgot to mention that.

    Uninstall Combofix:
    Go Start > Run
    Type in:
    combofix /u
Note the space between the "combofix" and the "/u "
    Restart computer.

Delete Symantec Shared folder from c:\program files\Common Files\

Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

    1. Open HijackThis.

    2. Close all windows, except for HijackThis.

    3. Put checkmarks next to the following HijackThis entries:

    - R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank
    - R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
    - R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

    4. You should also checkmark following entries (these are unnecessary startups; no actual programs will be removed):

    - O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Gamma Loader.exe.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe

    5. Click on Fix checked button.

    6. Restart computer.

....and that's pretty much all, we can do in this forum :)

    broni,

I finished up what you asked. I appreciate all your help! Not much improvement in speed, but I'll see how things go for a couple days and then decide what my next move should be.

    You're very welcome :)
You may want to run some hardware checks...
