I noticed that the 'my videos' folder on my desktop did not have the little filmstrip icon as it did on my laptop (RIP). The instructions were simple enough: right click -> properties -> customize tab. One problem: I don't have a customize tab, and I can't find anything that tells me how to restore it. The closest I could find on this site was http://www.windowsbbs.com/windows-vista/86821-pictures-folder-cannot-get-icons-show.html

But that isn't exactly the same problem and refers to Vista. I have xp. Any ideas? thx.

    Hello natcolley,

Is this a relocated "my videos" folder that should be or was located in the "my documents" folder or is this a folder you made and named on your desktop?

What are your right click>properties check options?

You could move the folder off desktop and create a shortcut to it. The shortcut can be modified as you see fit.

Or please backup this folder and any videos you have in it. After you did this, see below:

It seems like forever since I have used or seen XP, so I am just a bit nervous for you and your videos that is why I recommend backing this up first. I am suffering from "use it or lose it" syndrome.

--FYI additional information resources or google says to do this--

xp "videos" customize tab is missing

    Thx, Goddez

This seems to be the original my videos within my documents. I heard so many bad stories about Vista that I skipped over it entirely. I will eventually upgrade now that it has been superseded.

    Hi natcolley,

Oh, okay. Then, the above previous thread should fix you right up. Try it and let me know if it worked for you.
