    Hi,

I just followed some advise on how to remove Vista Defender by removing it in the task manager and then in the registry editor (using this website: http://www.spywareremove.com/removeVistaDefender.html). But now I can't access the internet! Everytime I click on the Internet Explorer icon it comes up with a msg saying: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel. I have no idea how to do this and can't find this Associations control panel anywhere! Please can you help me!

    Thanks,
    azulu

    Hi
    exefix vista

To fix the association for the exe. file type, download the fix from the above link (Use Right-click - Save as option in your browser to download the fixes). Unzip the fix and extract the .REG file to the Desktop. Right-click the REG file and choose Merge. Note that you need to be an administrator to apply these fixes.

Follow goddez1 advise and post in the Malware forums.
