Well, I decided to reload WIndows. I tried to disable processes, and nothing seems to help much. I know the HP stuff was needed for scanning and printing since it's the All-In-One printer. Hopefully a re-install of Windows will help...who knows....if not, I guess I'll be starting over.

Don't install everything at once, see the effect on the system after each addition.

For instance, you don't need to use the printer right away.

Well, the install of windows seemed to have helped...seems back to normal speed. Ithink.

Now, it seems like my wireless network keeps dropping my laptop. It will disconnect about every couple minutes. Not sure what would cause that as my laptop is next to my router and it connects sometimes. Weird. Any suggestions?

Nothing changed in either setup, my PC still has the same workgroup/name.

    Hi doubledown88

Follow the instructions from the link that Charles gave. Also while in safe mode delete the folder C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger.

Can you tell me what if anything these programs found when you ran them?

Is this running at start up?

Everything seems back to normal. My PC is running normal, and my laptop is now connecting to the wireless connection. Thanks for all the help....I'll come back here for sure on the next problem ;)

I just use Partion Magic 7.0 to Copy One Drive To Another (will this make it bootable in case this HDD fails)?

    I have PM 8.0

As far as I know, no, for that you need the cloneing function of a drive imaging program.

doubledown88--I think you mean you use Ghost (not Partition Magic) to make a CopyOneDrive image. A CopyOneDrive image is just an un-encrypted, uncompressed image of whatever drive you have copied. You can open the CopyOneDrive folder to see and actually work with the folders/files you have copied. Great for restoring personal files. CopyOneDrive is what Norton used to call a Clone.
Ghost also has the Backup function. That copies in an encrypted, compressed format. The Backup image can be use to Restore a drive. (Restore being another function of Ghost.)
It would be the Backup that could be bootable, but it depends on what drive the back up is on and what your BIOS permits. Backups on USB external hard drives generally do not permit booting.
However, depending on the version of Ghost you use, you may be able to make and use a Ghost System Recovery Disk which is bootable if you cannot boot normally to your hard drive.
