    Constant BSOD IRQL_NOT _LESS_OR

    Matt,
This sounds like really good advice. I care nothing about the Nero program and, in fac it, is a very old version. I am more than happy to part with this program, especially if it is the root cause of this problem and can allow me to avoid reformat. If I reformat, I will reformat it to the junk yard. My CD burning is done on a different computer and I only occasionally had a any use for Nero. Let me make sure I am clear in what you say. I should reboot to Safe Mode and attemptthe uninstall of Nero. Unistall the optical hardware (CD ROM and DVD) and any other optical devices. You mention IDE which I see in devices so I can get to that. I am unclear on what SCSI equipment I should attempt to unistall. I am fearful I will uninstall something that won't return in the SCSI department. Can you give me further guidance.

    Wade

In Safe Mode try uninstalling Nero from Add/Remove Programs. You can use the uninstaller download from the Nero website if that does not work. The rest is OK, disconnecting the cables to the drives and booting into Windows, I will leave that up to you.

I checked Dimension 8200 drivers at the Dell website. There is no mention of SCSI controllers. Maybe the only other source of a SCSI controller is for something like a scanner. You would probably see the term SCSI in the headings in Device Manager, but you can open the branches and look for it (you won't need to open Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, Display Adapter, etc). You can ask back here if you see one and we could look for drivers before you try the uninstall.

I will offer you good luck, I hope it works.

    Matt
PS Don't miss uninstalling InCD if it is installed.
