Did you try reinstalling Windows 10 completely using the Windows 10 ISO file that I had you download earlier in this thread?

After performing a clean installation of Windows 10 if you open Windows Explorer and click on File< Help< About Windows it should show up as version 1703. If its showing an earlier build of Windows 10 then that means you are using an older Windows 10 ISO build and you will need to create a new Windows 10 installation media using the media creation tool from Microsoft.

The first time I did a refresh of Win 10 it was only version 1607 I believe. I didn't reinstall my antivirus in case that was the issue an let it update. I also downloaded something like a Windows Update Fix tool. It scans your system and fixes all the issues it finds. Then I ran another program that supposedly runs and updates to 1703. This is where it always fails. It gets to 88% and then my system freezes completely.

    Were these genuine Microsoft programs?
Did you use the links given by Evan?

I got the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant from a link through Microsoft Support. It's supposed to analyze your system and make sure your able to upgrade to the Creators Update without any issues. The other was also through Microsoft and was just for people with issues with Windows update. Yes, I followed Evan's links. I reinstalled / refreshed Windows 10 twice. The first time I tried updating before reinstalling my AV but it didn't make a difference. After this second time, I'm trying to just forgo the update altogether.

As an extremely happy W10 user and Insider Previewer I feel for you but I've run out of suggestions. I'm running 3 Desktops (home builds with all new components) and 1 HP 1000 Notebook and I have not experienced any major problems with WU on Auto. I've cloned the OS on this comp twice to install on larger SSD's each time, and still receive WU's OK - no problems.
There will be an explanation for your problems, but I can't put a finger on it. Sorry.

Please attach the setuperr.log to a post, so we can have a look. If it is too large, post the last 100 lines or so to begin with.
