Resolved Computer SLOW! Do I have to much installed & maybe causing major conflicts?

    Chances are there are some registry leftovers of Zone Alarm still hidden on the system but since you are not very experienced with registry editing its probably best to not worry about it.

    You can remove that empty checkpoint folder that you mentioned.

    How is the computer running at this point? Do you have any other issues or concerns?

    Make sure you also click Start< All Programs< Windows Update. When the Windows Update page opens click on the Custom button and install all high priority updates for Windows XP.

    Evan, my computer is running much better now. I'm so very thankful to you. I will do as you suggest in your last post.

    I see that you are also monitoring the Internet & Networking forum for Firefox. I posted there also because even after of this, Firefox 25.0.1 still wants to give me a Not Responding message. I still wonder if it could be due to a slow DSL connection or a router problem. Please check my post there and advise.

    I will mark this resolved and if I have any new problems I will start a new post.
