My computer opens on start up. When windows loads on start up it opens the my computer program. You can close it and all works well the rest of the time. I have no clue as to what to look for that is opening this program. Any Ideas.

    Thanks

    A few things to try:

    1. In My Computer, up at the top click on Tools then Folder Options then the View tab. Find "Restore previous folder windows at logon" (or something similar). If it's checked, uncheck it, click OK.

    2. Look in the Start Menu>All Programs for the Startup folder. If there's a reference to My Computer or Windows Explorer there, right click it and delete it. That only removes the instruction to Windows to open Windows Explorer to a specified folder every time Windows is started.

    3. Go to Start>Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotes), click OK. Go to the Startup tab. Look through the list to see if there's anything referring to My Computer. If so, uncheck it, click OK.

    My computer opening on startup

Thanks for the three suggestions. This did not fix it. I did a search for all bat files and looked at them to make sure nothing was sending a auto run to open it. Will just keep looking. Thanks for your suggestions. Just another kink.
