    Hey guys,

I was on my desktop when I got a virus alert saying that a .dll file in system32 was a virus. I clicked disinfect and it told me a reboot was required. When the computer rebooted, it kept restarting.

I would get up to the Windows XP logo and it would reboot again.

I've tried to boot from the CD. I put my XP CD inside and when it says "type anything to boot from CD" my computer wouldn't read my keyboard. I've tried pressing EVERY button but no luck.

I've also tried to run the computer in safe mode and I would have to tap the ESC button and a bunch of other buttons. It would get me to the screen with:

    "Last settings that worked
    Safe mode
    Safe mode with network "

etc. But the thing is, my keyboard would then STOP working and when I try to move the up or down arrow, it wouldn't respond...

    Please help!

    Hi 604gd,

I'd advise reading this and start a new thread in Malware and Virus Removal...

I understand you won't be able to post logs at the moment but read that post anyway. Be prepared to burn CD's on the system that you are currently using as I'm pretty sure this will be required to get your other system up and running.
