So... the cloning software says that it will erase everything from the original SSD in the process of cloning the new one. Is that right?? What will happen when I reboot? I assume that I should disconnect the old primary drive before I reboot and it will find the new one automatically? Will it reassign it as C:\?

I have only one thing to say. DONE!!!

Cloned, then I expanded the new partition size (as it reflected the smaller SSDs footprint) and reformatted the old SSD. I also renamed the two SSDs so I could tell them apart (e.g.- SSDWIN to SSDWIN256). The EaseUS Todo Backup and the MiniTools Partition Wizard were both free AND were fantastic assets. Highly recommended.

Thanks for all your help, Doc.!!!!!!

Hey Doc, can I ask two random questions, please?

    1. Is there anyway to increase the font size on the forum?

    2. My computer has one of those Rosewill multi-input headers. One drive letter says BD-Rom when I don't have one. I do have a DVD and it is listed separately. Not to worry or should I clean it up?

    Thanks, Larry

    1) In most browsers you can press [Ctrl][+] several times, or while holding down the [Ctrl] key, scroll the mouse wheel forward (away) from you. And then to shrink it back down, [Ctrl][-], or [Ctrl] mouse wheel back.

    2) Do you get an error if you try to eject the BD-ROM in Windows Explorer? If you're sure it's not any one of your other drives that is somehow mislabeled, what happens if delete/uninstall it in Device Manager and reboot?

    1) Cntrl -/+. Cool, didn't know that. Nice that it only affects one page at a time.

    2) Eject had no effect. I am not sure about it. If I delete/uninstall, will it find it again as New Hardware upon reboot?

    Thanks

I went into Device Mgr and found a 2nd device in DVD/CD ROM Drives. It is called "DTSOFT Virtual cdrom device ". I cannot definitively link it to the J: drive but it must be the phantom BD-ROM Drive. It has something to do with Daemon Tools which I do have installed on my computer. I guess that I will just let it be for now, or until I decide to uninstall Daemon Tools. Is there any downside to this plan other than my having no idea what it actually does?

    Thanks
