When I booted my machine this morning CHKDSK fired up and deleted some stuff.

It displayed information about deleting an orphan file and an index entry.

The boot process kicked in before I could finish scribbling down the information from the screen.

Is there a log file I can read?

Should I be concerned enough to take additional action?

Is it a coincidence that last night was the first time I had left my machine on for AVG to run a scheduled scan overnight, and the first time I had selected the shut-down-computer-after-scan option?

I'm running XP Media Center Edition SP3.

Is the computer running ok? There should be an event logged start > run > type "eventvwr.msc" (without quotes)

You can check your AVG log to see if it found anything.

One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You
may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
    that you continue.

Windows has finished checking your disk.
Please wait while your computer restarts.

Nothing was found by AVG which appears to have run to completion despite the disk error being detected during its scan.

As far as I can tell you XP did its job. It just cleaned up some stuff for you.

As long as it's working fine I wouldn't worry.
