rsinfo, I am rather confused as my last post was about "SpywareBlaster" and not "Spybot-SD ". I still have "Spybot-SD" in my computer and using on a regular basis since mentioned by Mr Bill. S-SD still remains a good software and is certainly not in any way "Bad mouthed" by me.

SpywareBlaster does not remove anything per say. Read below.

SpywareBlaster blocks the installation of most ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers and other unwanted programs from the user's computer. SpywareBlaster works by blacklisting the CLSID of known malware programs, effectively preventing them from infecting a protected computer. This approach differs from many other anti-spyware programs, which typically offer the user a possibility to "scan" the memory and hard drive of the computer and remove the unwanted software, after it has been installed.

SpywareBlaster also allows the user to prevent privacy hazards such as tracking cookies. Another feature is the ability to restrict the actions of websites known to distribute adware and spyware. SpywareBlaster supports several web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Seamonkey, and Flock.

BobbyScot, sorry for the goof up. I think its time to go for my eye testing again :D.

Even then, the site from where you downloaded the app is a rogue site dishing out rogue software.

The official site for SpywareBlaster is http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

rsinfo, thanks for correct Web address for SpywareBlaster. I followed instructions for download, this proved to be a different setup without all the **** additional titles provided in the previous download, this proved that this title was a rogue. I am certainly going to continue use genuine copy of SpywareBlaster.

Mr Bill, I downloaded your other title Anti-Malware, certainly looks very efficient and after running A-M it showed that I had a Trojan infection that was removed. Of the three titles that checked my computer, A-M was the one to find the Trojan attack. A-M says it is a trial version, does this mean a registry and payment is required for further use? What is the cost and if worth the registration fee?

MrBill, MBAM is showing a caption that Free version has only seven days remaining, will this mean that MBAM will no longer work as current?

Bobby, You have downloaded the Paid version which is 30 days. If I remember right, last time I downloaded MBAM for somebody, when it went to install, it gave you the choice to do the paid version in a like a different window. I choose no and haven't had it pop up at all. That has been a couple of months ago.

Go to this link and do the one that says FREE. It will show FREE and PRO.

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

Uninstall yours and then use CCleaner to get the remains out of the registry or else use Revo Uninstaller and do the last box on the first page. Do everything in it including the registry part. Then install MBAM from the link above.

MrBill, thank you for additional help. I carried out proceedure and downloaded another copy marked free 1.60.1.1000. Uninstalled saved Malwarebyte and reinstalled new download 1.60.1.1000, desktop icon is now showing different. I will need to wait and see if 30 days trial still applies. version 1.60.1.1000 still shows as "Trial ".

When installing Malwarebytes, the 14-day trial version will be offered once. To continue using the free version, you must click the Decline button.

Latest download and installed Malawarebyte 1.60.1.1000 this no longer shows "Trial ". Previous instal of MalawareByte "Trial ", displayed several times during a computer session on the Net, that various sites have been "Blocked ", this facility no longers applies. Is this due to current instal not being a "Trial" or requires further tweeking?

Referring back to CCleaner, running analyser then "Run cleaner ", step is carried out but immediately CCleaner completely clears itself from the monitor screen. Is this normal practise with CCleaner? as no mention is made by CCleaner that session was carried out successfully or not.

I do Analyze and let it do its thing. Then I do run cleaner and let it do its thing. I shows in both what it is doing as it is doing it. Then when Run Cleaner is done, it tells me cleaning complete (14.15 secs) How many MB removed and delails of what was removed. I only do the Windows tab. Usually nothing in other tab is left.

As a precaution uninstalled completely CCleaner for corruption. Installed CCleaner again and adjusted boxes as suggested in previous replies, and now find CCleaner closing properly.
