Did you look in Device Manager for any yellow ? of !. Missing the driver would be my first guess or not plugged in at all or in the wrong place.

i have no yellow or ! all devices are working properly, i have tried both usb plugs on the motherboard and still no recognition, bios does not see it as i have tried there loads of times before now,it probaly is missing the driver but as i dont know the make or model of it i cant go down that line

I have found what i was looking, it was there all along right in front of me, disguised as Floppy Drive (A:)
