I downloaded a program to try it out and it needed the .net framework. So I downloaded the .net framework, got 1,2,and 3, and used the program. Found out the program was trash so I immediately uninstalled it.

Since I didn't need the .net framework after that I decided to uninstall it and can't. Why not?

    Thank you. :)

If you are arriving from a search engine experiencing problems with .NET Framework installations, please see today's thread on the issue.

Oops, Sorry Pete. And I quote:

Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 cannot be uninstalled because it will affect other applications that are installed. For more information see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkld=91126.

When I copy/paste the above link I only get a Microsoft search page.

Coincidentally I removed .Net from my standby XP box today for another reason and saw that message too. Try another entry re. .NET in Add/Remove - it needs to be done in a specific order which I forget.

Having removed some elements I ran the tool I posted above successfully.

I ran the tool you posted also and no sign of .Net in the add/remove section. Now I've got to google some stuff to see if it is related to the .net framework.

Thanks for the link Pete. :)
