Inactive Cant do a system restore.

    For the first 'copy" i got system cannot find the file specifie

    It looks like your CD drive can't read CDs.
    It may be broken.
    You said, it's not your computer, so you can't be sure, it was working before.

    You can try....

    One of these may help:
    1. Uninstall the drive through Device Manager.
    Restart computer. The drive will be automatically reinstalled.
    or...
    2. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116
    Restart computer.
    or...
    3. Download, and run Restore Missing CD Drive patch
    Double click on cdgone.zip to unzip it.
    Right click on cdgone.reg, click Merge.
    Accept registry merge.
    Restart computer.
    or...
    4. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
    You'll see two items:
    - ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel)
    - ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel)
    Right click on each of them, and click Uninstall. Confirm.
    Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.

    i did option 3 and i still dont understand it still says "Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present) "? agrr

    i just want to System Restore my CPU to a week earlier... so much work.

    System Restore will not clean your infection.
    You have two crucial system files infected and they have to be replaced with my files.
    There is no other way.

    I'm not sure how else I can explain this.
    You need that CD.
    Period.

    okay sir. i have uninstalled both of the drive. Restarted my CPU. ran the program, same problem.

    What kind of CD do you use? i have used Maxell CD-R and TDK DVD+R

    Sorry for the long response, but i got a more serious problem now.. This time when i turn on my PC my WINDOWS SCREEN WONT POPUP, i cant even get in safemode.. you have any suggestions on how to sovle this.. ? I aslo have no idea on how to PC restore the computer..

    I didn't know, you had Windows CD.
    Last time, I checked, you had some recovery CD.

    If you have real Windows CD, you don't have to able to boot to any mode.
    You can run, say, Windows repair, by booting from Windows CD.
    However, we seem to have an issue with CD drive as well.

    In any case, what Windows CD do you have?

    Its the Mircosoft Window XP Media Center Version 2005. Is that even the Windows CD?

    but first can we solve my windoew, cause i cant log on cuz my windows is not popping up and loading

    Since (I assume), it's not your computer, I doubt, you want to do this.

    In any case, we seem to be going circles, traveling around same subject back and forth.
    I can assure you, I'd love to help, but we simply can do impossible.
    Without certain tools I can do anything else, than I did so far.

    So, now, it's up to you.
    If you'll be able to provide, what I asked for, we can give the issue some more shots.
    Until then, my hands are tied.

    okay sir , i asked my friend to burn the cd and he successful burned it but i dont know if he did it right. I'm still on a struggle on how to get the cd but ill get soon and untill then is there any way to solve the problem in front of me. The start up windows wont load.
