    Hi Arie,
The Vista OS is not listed. Under the heading Networking, there are four different controllers, 3Com, Cnet, GVC and Intel. That's why I am asking about the Service Tag. The most recent driver is dated 2002.
Eva could try all 12 downloads I suppose.

I have just spent 8 hr. with a similar problem same PC had Windows XP installed that connected to (wired) Router Cable Broadband without ever any problems.
I did a fresh Vista install on a new HDD and I could not connect to the Internet. No Network controller drivers detected. In my case I needed NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Controller.
I downloaded from another PC the LAN drivers for the Motherboard MSI Win32 only to find that going through New Hardware Windows informed me that the OS installed was not Win32 (it is) I then downloaded and attempted to install the Win64 drivers and Windows told me my OS was not Win64. After many tries using the LAN connection on the mobo or on the PCI NIC card no go. I then found a newer NIC card and Vista detected and installed the drivers and I was connected.
Vista though tried to make a either Dial-Up or Wireless connection I had to repeatedly change the setting to LAN and in Connections to "Do Never Dial" settings.
I think it was the too old hardware syndrome for Vista in my case.
