Resolved Cannot record using DVD-RW

This is a first for me. I have had similar problems on XP, but the culprit was usually the hardware or the media. Good to see that Kenny fixed his problem though.

 

Ok, guys, here's the culprit.....ready......

ME!

I was trying to burn files from shortcuts instead of the actual folders. I noticed this was a problem after doing the reinstall last night and trying to put back the saved files I put on a USB storage device. I tried saving these files from the shortcut folder so nothing copied over to the USB. When I attempted to copy and paste the files back over after the reinstall the computer was looking for the actual folder instead of the shortcut.

Does that make sense?

Anyway, I did a complete reinstall for nothing! Live and learn I guess!
