Recently allowed some microsoft 'upgrades' to my system running XP Pro & service pack 2, a big mistake. Have been using Outlook Express in addition to Thunderbird as I have a few different email accounts, and OE works very well in certain cases. After the 'upgrades' I can no longer right click a photo & use the 'save as' option. I now get this "C:\windows\system 32\mshtml.hlp missing" warning pop up, and haven't found anything that will fix it.
None of this happened until after the upgrades. Would like to get it back to where it was before.

Hi Rob Allen. According to many websites from google, the mshtml.hlp file doesn't even exist in the Windows installation.

Here is a workaround for your specific issue, right-click the embedded image as you normally would, but instead of choosing Save as, choose Copy. Then open Microsoft Paint, go to the Edit menu and select Paste. That should paste the image into Paint, and then you can save it as you normally would.

By the way since you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 I would highly recommend that you install Windows XP Service Pack 3 to continue to receive security updates for your windows installation from Microsoft. Download Windows XP Service Pack 3 from here.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

As noted by the others, first point should be to immediately upgrade to SP3.

    SP2 is not secure!

Thank you for your reply's; at this point it looks like I will have to re-install the OS and get a clean start, which will put me back to where I was before all of this mess. I should have learned by now that "upgrades" & "improvements" usually provide quirks that I don't care to deal with.
Thank you for all of your help.
    Rob
