Resolved Buy Home Premium Upgrade or Full Version

I have a stupid question. I spend an hour googling this but got tired.

My neighbor has Vista on her computer. She bought Windows Home Premium Upgrade the other day but she took it back because she said she "grabbed the wrong one" because she needed the "full version so she could reformat her hard drive and start clean with 7 ".

I told her she could have done the same thing with the upgrade but she argued with me for quite a while telling me the "guy in the store" told her she needed the full version if she was going to reformat her hard drive ".

I think she got ripped off - but maybe I'm wrong - Can someone chime in here and give me the straight poop so I can show it to her. She now thinks I don't know what I am talking about

Broni's post is right. This "guy in the store" must be an ex used car salesman.
