Thanks for that TeMerc. I've downloaded RegSeeker & run a scan on my registry, the results were mostly (unused or invalid Active X) Am i ok to delete these?

Yep. It will probably pop up a box to name the back up, then delete away.

Let me know if that helps. I don't recall seeing that last time I looked.

No luck, I'm afraid! Still unable to run adware SE. I think the BSOD is related to a hardware problem, as it appeared when I tried to connect my camcorder to it!

But it's odd that Ad-Aware would be so badly affected. An un-install\re-install should have fixed amy related components for Ad-Aware. Is it possible the camcorder software is buggered up? Did you keep it on board or remove it asfter BSOD?

Sorry TeMerc, didn't make myself clear. Didn't download any software for the camcorder, just plugged it in & BSOD appeared. Don't think that adware is infected, when trying to run, an error message appears:-
"Entry point not found. The procedure entry point RichEdit10ANSIWndProc could not be located in the dynamic link library RICHED20.dll "
I followed the link you gave me in a previous post (below), but this didn't help/work

Well this is just way out of my realm of knowledge, I don't deal with much with any peripherals at all on anyone's pc, let alone my own.

Wish I cold have been more helpful.

    Hi, timeoutgang.

Since it looks like TeMerc has exhausted his ideas about possible malwares...

Reminder: Run debugwiz.exe and browse DebugWiz to your c:\MEMORY.DMP or (for Mini-dumps) in C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\ for your November 28 (or later) crash. To view the file dates/times for your BSOD dumps, enable "Detailed" view when browsing DebugWiz to your dump file location (as shown in the attached image).

BTW, please include (in that new thread post) your steps leading up to the BSOD, especially if you can routinely reproduce the BSOD.

Don't know if this is related to my original problem, however, when I run regseeker & choose the "Clean Registry" option, the program scans my registry. When I then try & delete these entries an error message appears "File name incorrect ". This error message is written in French.
