Today I got this error (I mean BSOD):
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
    to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: win32k.sys

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
    these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
    select Safe Mode.

    parameters is 0x1000008e, 0xbf82ed2b, 0xafea0ac0, 0x00000000

I am just doing browsing on Internet and print some documents and this thing appeared and my print job interrupted. Opened 5 tabs at a time and 5 programs also.

Is that called 'system overload'!!?? This is just a random error, but I want to know WHY would this happen :(

aw i got this error while downloading SDK:
A problem occurred while installing selected Windows SDK components.

Installation of the "Windows Debugging Tools" product has reported the following error: Signature of the file dbg_x86.msi could not be obtained. Possible unsigned file.

Please attempt to resolve the problem and then start Windows SDK setup again. If you continue to have problems with this issue, please visit the SDK team support page at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=130245.

Click the View Log button to review the installation log.
    To exit, click Finish.

do i need to post the log file?

UPDATE: oops sorry i got it to work. I run the setup once again and choose 'change' options.

    Debuglog is here!:

Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    *******************************************************************************

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.

Start by testing your memory. Run Memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic.

    Please note:

To work around the above, test the installed RAM in various configurations. If you have a single module, swap it around the slots. If you have a pair of modules, run each one singly, swapping between slots; and then run them in pairs swapping between pairs of slots. If you have 2 sets of matched modules do not get them mixed up.

aw it needs to use cd-rom drive and floppy disk drive to run it but my old pc has neither cd-rom drive nor floppy disk drive. So what should I do?

This is the only option if you can't test th RAM.

That, and just borrowing/buying some new & hoping it fixes the problem. Personally I wouldn't get new RAM if I wasn't sure my old is shot.

Hmm I discovered I have 2 RAM modules inside, one is old 256MB and new 1GB. Swapped each other already and test it one by one but still functioning. I think the culprit is either the motherboard or Google chrome cannot respond.

If the problem only happens when using Chrome.... that'll give you a clue. So try using Internet Explorer, Firefox or any other browser for a while & see if that makes a difference.

Nothing happened while using IE and firefox.
before I mark this thread as 'resolved', how can I determine that my CPU is overclocked by someone else?

Get CPU-Z and compare with the specs on Intel's web site.
