    No, we have to do something about it.
    You can't really function using computer in safe mode.

    Proceed with TDSSKiller and also start looking for that Vista DVD.

    It says Infection Not Found.

    I have already looked for the Vista DVD. The computer didn't come with one, but I suspect I created one. Haven't found it since 7/13. I'll keep trying.

    Most likely we'll have to run repair installation so we'll need full version of Vista DVD.
    Borrowed one will do, so ask around.

    Broni, I've sent a couple of emails, and asked a couple of people, unsuccessfully, at this point. I must have made Vista DVDs, but don't see any. I'll contact you when I find Vista.

    In the meantime, how can I print? I am going to restore real-time protection now. Do I need to install my printer driver each time to print from safe mode?

    Can real time protection be turned on in safe mode? I tried with MS Security Essentials and was told that the return to real time protection had timed out. Error 0x800705b4.

    That won't work either however as I said before, if you stay behind router and you won't be doing anything dangerous you'll be fine.

    Broni, will be home tomorrow night. A friend wrote that he downloaded the Vista OS and burned a DVD and sent it to me about 7/25, so maybe I'll have it when I get home. Thanks so much for your help, as ever.

    Broni, a friend has sent me a Vista OS disk that he downloaded and burned from the Internet. He has no Vista system so was unable to test it, unfortunately. Another friend is looking around the office for one. Please let me know what the next step is.

    Well downloading Vista from the internet is not legal, so we can't use that disk.

    Since the computer did not come with a Vista OS CD from Dell, perhaps the plan is to force people to throw the computer away and start over again, in addition to the problems that everyone encounters with Vista.

    I'll keep trying but I suspect all the DVD/CDs are illegal.

    Broni, I now have a Dell Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bit Reinstallation DVD. This is the type of laptop that I have that my Wireless Broadband company manager, Heath Hill, lent me. He is user Hill on this website.

    Please let me know what the next step is.
