G'day - point taken on those programs / tools.

Those first lot of files are related to the game 'Need For Speed' but the fact it's creating a new directory for each of them at \Program Files instead of \Program Files\Need for Speed is a bit curious (I will have a close look at them tonight my time).

Of those you list lastly I definately recognise NFSHP2.exe (Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2) but the fact it's sitting in the \Program Files directory like that and the fact the other directories are all there suggests it was due to the way I installed the game on my machine from the DVD. As for the Win2kHook.dll & RegSetup.exe I have to assume it's part of the installation of that game.

I suspected as much. Thanks for clarifying. :)

If you intend to remedy that, don't just go deleting stuff. Uninstall the program first, then remove any leftovers before attempting a new installation.

    Thanks for the welcome Dave.:)

Yes I was going to clean these things last.

Additionally after we are thru I think it would be advisable to uninstall the Need for speed. Probably (after uninstall) to manually clean up Program Files.

You can use this thread to see if any are left after uninstall.

After the uninstall use the Temp and Reg cleaners then reboot before reinstalling Need for Speed.

But wait on this untill everything else is done.

    G'day Mike,

Sorry about my lack of recent posts. All appears well with my system at the minute (I have also cleaned up those game files). I will do full system scans using those programs and post another hijack this log in the next day or so.

    Cheers mate.
