Resolved Blue screen

    You can't. I only suggested a "maybe" as the infection might have got in there before the 2 week shutdown. A virus doesn't usually cause too many problems until it has been rebooted. Anyway, if you don't need any of the data on that drive just do a full format and that will delete any nasties, then you can connect it up without any worries.

    I would like to conclude this Mysterious problem with just as mysterious shall we call it "solution ".
    Whenever I reverted back to using the "problem" HD I would get the recycling of the problem I originally posted.
    SO....after a number of days I
    (A) Installed a new CMOS Battery and of course reset the CMOS
    (B) I placed the problem HD in a plastic bag and left it in the freezer for a couple of days.
    (C) I reinstalled the problem HD and all is well.
    Thats PC's 4U eh!...I suspect a vunerable CMOS battery.

    Not heard of a CMOS battery causing such an issue as all that would do is keep the CMOS set to default and your time and date would have been slipping:confused:
